The Weyhill Fairground Craft & Design Centre

“the greatest Fair in the Kingdom”

Set in the historical walls of the Weyhill Fairground Craft & Design Centre, The Tea Leaves & Reads Bookshop officially opened 1st June 2024.

The Fairground is a creative hub for local arts, crafts and small businesses in the North Hampshire area. There are twelve studios and a café.

The Fairground offers free parking and is just a 5-minute drive from Andover. You will find an array of local businesses including a papercraft shop, bespoke furniture design, florist, holistic therapies, refill shopping, pottery, yarn shop, hair stylist, patchwork and quilting specialist, and a lovely café to visit. You will be spoilt for choice. For contact details and opening times of all of the other studios visit their website below.

The Fairground History

You can read more about the history of The Fairground by visiting the official website. Origins of the site date back to the early Bronze Age, with a Round-barrow on the fairground site showing evidence of a burial dating back to around 1500 BC.

The author Daniel Defoe, described Weyhill as “…where the greatest fair for sheep is kept that this nation can show”. Whilst this is no longer true, and there are no sheep (but a handful of studio hounds!), The Fairground continues to be a unique and great location, these days for slowing life down and making time for yourself and your mind, by nature of the wonderful studio offerings on site.

How to Find Us & Accessibility

We are readily accessible by car and public transport. There is free parking available with a limited number allocated for Disability Blue Badge Holders. Parking is opposite the shop with the ground generally being level access to the shop door. Inside, the bookshop is level access and there is a space to rest if you require a seat.

The South West Trains service from London Waterloo to Exeter stop at Andover station and this is 10mins by taxi from the Fairground.

By Road

Parking is plentiful and free of charge. From the A303, take the Andover exit signposted A342 for Marlborough and Devizes.  After little more than a mile on A342, at Weyhill roundabout, take the exit signposted Craft Centre into the Fairground and follow the road through to our entrance.
