Not only did we get to feature C J Skuse as our Book Club Author for October with her first novel in the series, Sweetpea, but we also got to factor in a face-to-face even AND an online zoom too! Book Club Alumni also were present with Julie Mae Cohen coming to interview CJ – Julie Mae was one of the first book club Authors back in 2020 with her novel, Together.
Although many of us were new to the Sweetpea series, there were some definite die-hard fans in the audience who were eagerly awaiting publication of The Bad Seeds. So we were delighted to be on C J’s bookshop tour celebrating this!
Over 50 book-lovers joined us in The Fairground Hall opposite the Bookshop to hear Julie and C J chatting about all things serial killers. Much coveted pin badges were awarded for the best questions, and we were very lucky to get some insight into the TV series, C J’s thoughts, and what’s coming next.
Afterwards, book-signing took place. The full series of books had been pre ordered by many online customers and many more were interested following the chat, and Julie Mae Cohen’s latest book, Eat Slay Love, was also available and sold out!
